Our History

Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Augusta, a.k.a. Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), is a private, nonprofit community service agency. Established locally in 1990, this organization provides professional, confidential counseling and educational programs for individuals and families in matters relating to money and credit management. As a HUD-approved agency, CCCS also assists individuals and families in the area of homeownership education and realizing their goals of homeownership.

Merged with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Middle Georgia, Inc. in October 2007, our agency preserves high standards for all service provisions through achieving and maintaining accreditation by the Council on Accreditation (COA) for Children and Family Services. In addition, with over 35 years of cumulative experience, our staff consists of credit counselors who are certified by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC).

As both a member of the Better Business Bureau of Central Georgia & the CSRA, Inc. and the United Way of Central Georgia, Inc., CCCS prides itself as a reputable agency with the best interest of consumers at heart. In good standing with both organizations, CCCS maintains a high level of undisputed integrity.
