- Can be conducted in-person, via telephone, or over the internet.
- Reviews the various types of consumer bankruptcies.
- Analyzes current income and expenses.
- Discusses the consequences of filing for bankruptcy.
- Explores the alternatives to bankruptcy.
- An in-person or telephone counseling fee is charged: $50 per individual, or $75 for a married couple participating in a joint counseling session.
- The online counseling fee is $35 per individual.
- In limited circumstances, a client may be eligible to have fees waived.
- A certificate valid for 180 days is issued at the conclusion of the counseling session.
